I have to reinstall WoW. Since I can't find my copy of vanilla, this means using the download/install client from the Blizzard site. And...it's not working. It runs fine up to about 75%, and then I get the following error.
The installer was unable to read the file "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Blizzard Entertainment\World of Warcraft Installer\Installer Tome 3.mpq". This error may be caused by problems with the media or drive at C:\--for example, a scratched or dirty CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, hard drive corruption, or a networking problem while downloading the installer. (The data being read was "MPQs-1\Classic common\unconditional\Data#common.MPQ\tex
((I have no idea how to tag this.))

It's usually a good idea to at least turn off anti-virus when installing anything, especially when that bit of software has to maintain a connection to the internet.
